Pinterest

Pinterest is my latest obsession. It's very arty and crafty and satisfies my need to engage with that medium. I'm also interested in the effectiveness of driving traffic to websites. It's surprising.


As an example... I pinned a dress I was thinking of purchasing to wear to a wedding. I had checked inventory and even put it into my cart but didn't complete the buying process. You know... I might find a dress I liked better.


By the next evening, I was over the looking and went back to press the buy button. To my surprise, the dress was now sold out in my size. Coincidence? Maybe... 


So I did it again. And the results were the same. So I did it again... And the results were the same!!


What great free advertising for retailers!


When first using Pinterest, I was at disturbed by the fact that I could not upload my own photos, comments, etc. Legalities aside, I now see the logic and beauty of it.


Now I need to figure out how to use it.
